I wanted to create a street art project that would make people engage with it. Something that would make you smile. No client, no brief, no money.
I came up with the idea of "Urban Mistletoe". I partnered with a friend and we built physical mistletoes and sprinkled them through the city. Our mission was simple – get people to spread holiday cheer through kisses and #hashtags.
Jes Voight and I designed, wrote and assembled a set of posters and 3d mistletoe that we spread throughout SF. We designed and built a website that mapped the mistletoe locations, let you print your own and showed off a library of hashtagged images.
Web development, copywriting, product design, wheat pasting and mistletoe placing.
In 2016 & 2017 we upgraded to laser cutting. No more Xacto pains and long nights gluing. Thanks to significant others working at companies with laser cutters, I was able to learn a new program and happily let a robot do my job.
