I wanted to show people how crazy property prices have gotten in San Francisco. I decided to work out the cost of a a square foot and write it on a piece of paper that was actually 1'x1'.

There is something interesting about pasting a square foot to the ground to let people know, "This square you're standing on costs xxx amount of dollars."

My research is based on properties that have sold in San Francisco. Some areas got as high as $1,600 per square foot in Russian Hill.

I started in the Mission because I live here, identify with the hispanic culture and have such mixed feelings about the gentrification I am clearly a part of.

Personal observations
Most people didn't notice them, those that did often had a reaction.
